Associate of Architecture 1979,
AIA 1981, Registered Architect (WA)
Peter has been practicing architecture for more than 50 years, initially working for local Perth firms and then in London, before establishing his own studio in 1973. He further developed his skill set through the 1980’s when he became a registered builder, thereby augmenting his involvement and passion for the design & construction industry.
Peter is an active participant in local government and community groups. This including numerous local council Design Advisory Committees, one of which is the City of South Perth which he’s been with for over 30 years.
“Architecture is an addictive profession. I still get a thrill when a new job comes in, and love the anticipation of working together with clients to find a solution that is particular to their needs. Responding to site, climate, views, briefing issues, council planning schemes remain a challenge, to see how all these can be worked into a successful building”.

Simon grew up immersed in building and architecture and began actively working in the construction industry in 1994 through involvement with various trades. This progressed to architectural drafting work in the early 2000’s before graduating the architecture degree in 2006.
International experience in the design and construction of medical facilities followed before eventually deciding to come back to Perth and develop the ‘family business’ with his father Peter.
Simon has since continued to focus on his passion for good building practice. While great design is a crucial ingredient and integral to the service provided, being able to co-ordinate a cohesive working environment with the building and consultant team, has a profound effect on the success of a project. Simon enjoys the role of being a conduit between an architectural concept and construction realities.
“Creating buildings and spaces that enhance the lifestyle of its occupants is one of the great rewards of this job. It is extremely satisfying when the entire project team have a great sense of pride at what has been created at the end of any Motus project.”

When combined with his rigorous attention to detail, the foundations are set for a great design and construction ethos that drives both himself and the practice.
