Motus was engaged to provide a first floor addition to an existing 1970s cottage in a quiet street in Cottesloe. The owner was to continue living in the ground floor residence and the first floor additional was for a downsizer couple.
Motus designed a modern floating first floor box cantilevering over the front of the existing house. A large balcony facing the street provides the required setback to the first floor addition. A carport with a roof garden and green wall trellis within the external stair softens the building.
