The most striking quality of this private residence is its rare location backing onto the sand dunes of Burns Beach in Perth’s northern suburbs. Panoramic views of the dunes and ocean were achieved from all floors and accentuated within the home using frameless glazing from the living spaces. Natural materials also helped to provide a more relaxed aesthetic, suited to the beachside lifestyle of the client – a builder Motus had worked with previously.
THE MOTUS ADVANTAGE
The brief was to retain an existing single storey fibro house and build around and above the existing structure. Motus opted to utilize exposed superstructure as the supporting elements, which allowed minimal disruption to the original home.
