The building is adjacent to the St Peters and Emmaus Church, a joint initiative between the Uniting and Anglican Churches, and was designed as an eighty-place childcare facility. The same developer of the community centre and church was involved for the childcare centre, and subsequently the forward thinking attitude to design was embraced. Like the Church, Motus incorporated passive solar design to achieve a better internal environment.
